I was looking for a program to get me from a 5k to 10k, and, since I don’t have any iGadgets, I needed one that I could use on a regular MP3 player (Zune). I chose this program because there was no timing or distance measuring involved; just put on earphones and follow the instructions.

I was very happy with this program. Though I was trying to improve my distance rather than my speed, my pace definitely improved over the course of the 8 weeks, too. I ran my first 10k race in 62:01, which was about a mile/minute improvement for me– at the same time I doubled my distance! I did speedwork on the treadmill and did the “long runs” outside to stay acclimated to running in the cold.

The music isn’t what I would have chosen, but it has a good beat and it provides background without being distracting. I didn’t like it at first but quickly got used to it.

I really have enjoyed using this running program. I highly recomend it to someone that wants to begin running.
